Therese Nordhus Lien lives in Oslo and works at Norwegian People’s Aid as a communications advisor. Her university degree is in development studies and social anthropology, and through her studies she did field work in Ecuador on violence against women.
She represents Norwegian People’s Aid in ICAN’s international steering group, and has been involved in the nuclear disarmament issue since 2013. Through her work she has gained experience from multiple campaigns, ranging from anti-racism issues in Norway to shrinking space in Guatemala.
With an emphasis on social media and visual storytelling, she continues her activist work, and is still to be found carrying banners and shouting slogans in demonstrations, although it might not happen as often as it used to..!
